Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin stumbled over the Bush Doctrine in her interview with ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson, according to the San Francisco Chronicle article that I woke up to this morning.
The interview will be aired on several ABC shows today. Here are some highlights, or lowlights, plucked from the transcripts of Palin’s interview with Charlie Gibson.
Palin doesn’t know about the Bush Doctrine. She interprets it as Bush’s “world view” and not the policy of preemptive attack embraced by Bush post-9/11.
Unfortunately, Charlie Gibson didn’t press on her ignorance and instead gave her the answer in his follow up question, according to this McClatchy article.
The foundation of her experience on the international stage: “You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.”
She also thinks that we might have to go to war with Russia if they invade Georgia. Yes, war with Russia, the one with the nuclear arsenal.
There’s more on Israel, God’s will, and why her running for vice president without any substantial experience is not hubris – I’m not entirely sure that she knows what hubris is.
The top of the ticket seems just as confused, check it out in this video posted on The Real McCain.
